The Firm
Alan Reback and Derrick Lee have known each other since 1995. Their relationship began as they worked together on joint projects. Their first client together was a producer to whom Lee provided business management services and Reback provided production accounting services. As the two worked together, great respect grew between them. As time passed, Reback's production accounting expertise and credits grew to the point where he was sought after by the networks and top producers in town, while Lee handled a very demanding client list and ascended through the ranks to top senior management of his firm. At the urging of client producers, Reback sought out a business partner who would oversee and lead the business management practice so he could spend more time on the production accounting business. Reback's first choice was Lee, and the rest is history...
DERRICK LEE
Derrick Lee began his career in Los Angeles in 1990 as a tax accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. He knew very early in his career that his passion was working with high net worth individuals and his goal was to be a complete business advisor. He realized that a tax background was fundamental, however not broad enough at that the experience he needed would be obtained by pursuing a career in business management. In 1994, after earning his CPA license and developing an expertise in taxation, he left Andersen for Los Angeles based, Jess S. Morgan & Company, Inc., a full service business management and investment advisory firm. He worked for Morgan from 1994 through 2004 and during that period earned his CFP license, PFS designation, obtained expertise in business management and he served as Executive Vice-President for his last three years with Morgan.
Lee was born and raised in San Diego and is a graduate of UCLA with a B.A. degree in Economics/Business. He currently makes his home in Manhattan Beach with his wife Tisha and children, Lindsey and Nicholas.
ALAN REBACK
Alan Reback began his career in Los Angeles as an auditor with Price Waterhouse. Being drawn to the entertainment division, Reback worked on many high profile clients, including MCA, The Samuel Goldwyn Company and MTM Enterprises. It was during the MTM Enterprises engagement in 1988 which took place at the Brentwood based boutique business management firm of Brown, Kraft & Co., LLP, that Reback decided to make a career change. Having achieved expertise in financial accounting, he knew he could be more effective in a career of business management advising clients proactively rather than being an auditor reviewing events of the past. Reback joined Brown, Kraft & Co., LLP in 1989. Moving quickly through the ranks and earning his CPA, Reback became a partner in 1991. Handling business management for clients, Reback became enamored with production accounting. In 1995, Reback became head of the production accounting division while still maintaining his business management clients.
Reback was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago and is a graduate of The University of Illinois with a B.S. degree in Accountancy. He currently makes his home in Redondo Beach with his wife Ellyn and children, Blake and Joshua.
